Professor H. Eugene Stanley
"Horizons in Emergence & Scaling" Symposium and Gala will celebrate contributions of Prof. H. Eugene Stanley to diverse areas in statistical physics, neuroscience, econophysics, physiology and networks on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The events will take place on March 18 and 19, 2011, and our string quartet is honored to be performing at the Gala on March 19. Please visit the event website to learn more about the celebration and view the symposia schedule.
Harry Eugene Stanley  has made seminal contributions to statistical physics  and is one of the pioneers of interdisciplinary science. His current research focuses on understanding the anomalous behavior of liquid water, but he had made fundamental contributions to complex systems, such as quantifying correlations among the constituents of the Alzheimer brain, and quantifying fluctuations in noncoding and coding DNA sequences, interbeat intervals of the healthy and diseased heart. He is one of the founding fathers of Econophysics. Please visit the official website of Prof. H. Eugene Stanley to learn more.
